American Legion
If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.
American Legion Auxiliary
Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses (female/male), and direct /adopted female daughters or granddaughters of members of The American Legion. If the Veteran is not currently a member of the American Legion and deceased, then proof of the Veterans service will be required (the same as if the Veteran was applying for membership in the American Legion). If the Veteran is alive, they will need to be a current member of any Legion Post. A female Veteran can join the Auxiliary without being a member of the American Legion.
Sons of the American Legion
All male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of The American Legion. If the Veteran is not currently a member of the American Legion and deceased, then proof of the Veterans service will be required (the same as if the Veteran was applying for membership in the American Legion). If the Veteran is alive, they will need to be a current member of any Legion Post.
